Day 3 Monday 22 June 2026 Canberra, ACT by Brett Murrell

STARTING A MOVEMENT

Embroidered patch: Simpson and his donkey in gold on green, ringed with getoffyourasses.com.au.

Canberra. Starting a movement.

Who wants to get off their asses? Create a group and meet — every day, every week — out the front of a government building. Come to Canberra and join me, or be like Simpson and lead a group forward where you are.

Government and all the parties have lost their mandate with the people, and it did not start yesterday. Do I need to remind anyone about COVID?

Now they want us wrapped up in another power’s adventures in Asia. What we need is neutrality and a new plan — and I like the look of AUASIA. Unity and peace, not division.

Three demands of our politicians

Independence. A united Australia, free of foreign entities directing our government and our path — with full lobbying transparency, every name and every cent handed to government, and every treaty and agreement made public. No deals done in the dark.

Swear to Australia, in public. Every federal, state and local representative, every politician, diplomat and public servant to declare and pledge allegiance to Australia and its people, out loud, in a public ceremony — and to disclose in full any other affiliation or allegiance they hold. And the oath in the Constitution rewritten: to Australia, not to the King of England.

A Royal Commission into AUKUS. A full, official, independent review — to realign the arrangement so it serves Australia’s own defence, and to establish how much sovereignty has been signed over to the United States and the United Kingdom.

The goals

A million in every capital. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart and Darwin — the whole country up at once.

A million in Canberra. The national show of numbers, and a long-term campout. Not for a day — a sustained, peaceful presence on the lawns of Parliament, there and staying until they listen.

Daily and weekly meetups, and campouts, in every city and town. A meeting place in every community, gathering day in and day out, holding the ground. A movement that is always on, everywhere.

We need to get active, people.
