Day 12 Wednesday 1 July 2026 Canberra, ACT by Brett Murrell

NOBODY WAS WATCHING

Parliament returns. I would recommend anyone visit Parliament House and watch question time in person.

It is a carry-on. But the point is that these are the people running the country. What they do matters to all of us, and every decision made in that room feeds back into our lives.

And the biggest problem we now face is that for a long time, nobody was watching them. Now we have the result.

In the halls — the prime ministers, in oils

I want the young people of this country to get involved in politics. Good, honest Australians who put Australia first, so we can get the place back.

Get active, people.

That is Kevin Rudd on the wall. There is an interesting story in how he was displaced from the leadership — worth looking up, because it is a lesson in where power actually sits in a party, and it is not always with the person the public elected.

Much love.
Brett
