Day 45 Monday 3 August 2026 Secret Harbour, WA by Brett Murrell

LUCKY LAST

Sixteen people running for the Secret Harbour by-election — the largest field in history. I drew number 16. Lucky last.

And I just found out: number 7 on the Labor preferences. That’s cool — thanks Labor, and Georgia Tree for Secret Harbour.

Labor's registered how-to-vote card for Georgia Tree in Secret Harbour, showing all sixteen candidates, with MURRELL, Brett preferenced at number 7.
Labor’s registered how-to-vote card for Secret Harbour — number 7.

I had a few questions from The West newspaper that I answered today, and decided to use them for the About Brett page on the party site: the answers are here.

As mentioned, I’m putting the majors last in my preferences — I haven’t decided on the order yet. I don’t think any of them are meeting the people’s needs. AUKUS is the perfect example: all of them, the same policy. Then you’ve got Israel — not willing to speak up about the genocide. That is wrong, and it is where I give the Greens credit. But the Greens are wrong on energy policy. How to get the right policy for Australians and Australia?

Comparison table: where the parties stand on Israel and Palestine — eight issues across Sovereign Australia, Labor, the Coalition, the Greens and One Nation.
Where the parties stand — Israel and Palestine. The full comparison is on the site.

VOTE 1 — BRETT.
